MoDOT focuses on '100 Deadliest Days of Summer'

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - With Memorial Day in the rearview mirror, the Missouri Department of Transportation is focusing on the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer.

Those are the days between Memorial Day and Labor Day. During that time last year, there were 291 deaths on Missouri roadways.

That's nearly three lives lost each day during that time frame. In an effort to curb that number, MoDOT is encouraging people this Summer to buckle up, slow down, drive sober, and never drive distracted.
